Coffee....how do I love thee, let me count the ways
I guess you 'could' say I have an addictive personality. I used to bite my nails, I've struggled with my weight since puberty, I pick at my cuticles, and...well, I should be wearing a name badge that says "Hi, my name is Christine and I'm a coffee Addict".
Now, I don't drink it all day, because the caffeine really affects me. But OMG If I don't get those 2 cups in the morning I would probably go buy some from a dealer on the streets! It's like my crack fix! I must have it, if I don't have it, I panic and go to the nearest place that I can get it.
Although, I am a coffee snob. No McDonald's coffee, no duncan donuts coffee...and I'm not really even ineterested in Starbuck's coffee anymore....although their frozen heartattack in a cup is off the charts unbelievable! But their hot coffee is just bitter and burned tasting to me.
So how do I like my coffee? I like it with just a bit of flavored creamer. I don't like real cream because it ends up tasting a bit soured once it hits that scalding hot coffee. But in a restaurant where I don't have my option of Cinnamon Hazelnut "fake" cream, then yes, I"ll use a half a packet of equal and some half and half.
It's almost like a dessert to me! So rich, creamy and just a touch of sweetness. I crave it in the mornings.! It's not breakfast without that creamy cinnamony brew sitting next to me!
Now, I don't like flavored coffees. I like ot add my flavor. I also dont' like super strong coffee. I like a mild, smooth blend.
I actually have a lady I met around the holidays which has become a customer of mine who OWNS a coffee company. She gets the beans right from the roasters from all over the globe. She's got me addicted! It's organic coffee, and she grinds and delivers 2 pounds to me about every 4-6 weeks. It's a bit pricy but so workth it. I get 2 lbs for $20.
But here's the cool part...well, there's 2 cool parts. 1 is, it's so smooth and mild that I NEVER EVER get heartburn or acid reflux with it anymore. Like I did with Folger's, Starbuck's etc. AND, the second best part is, we barter! I get coffee, she gets The Body Shop products! It ROCKS!
Batering is so awesomely cool!
So, there's my admission to being a coffee addict. I'm so glad to find out that the medical commuinty is finding that coffee is actually good for you, and the pro's outweigh the con's. I've given up chocolate, fried foods, most junkfood, the sun, expensive shoes and pizza...I'm glad to know I don't have to give up my coffee addiction! Not to mention, it's cheaper than shoes!
